Versions
Versions enable you to create a backup of a content item that can be easily viewed and restored.
When viewing a content item, you can access its versions from the right sidebar by clicking the "versions" tab.
There are four types of versions: current, manual, status change, and auto. You can easily tell what type a version is by their colored labels.
- Current - is the current version of a content item. Every time you make changes to the content item, the "current" version is automatically updated.
- Manual - a manual version is created when you click the "save version" button. It makes a copy of the content item, including any custom fields, and change tracking states it current has.
- Status change - every time a content item changes status, a "status change" version is created.
- Auto - versions labeled "auto" are created whenever an article from WordPress is pushed or synced to EasyContent.

Version Comparison
You can compare two version to see how they differ from one another. To do that, click the "Compare Versions" button in the versions tab.
You will see the version comparison modal appear. Below is an example of what it would look like on a content item with multiple versions saved. Let's discuss the different parts of the version comparison modal in the next section.
- Version slider - compares the version you selected with a version preceding it.
- Compare any two versions - when this is activated, another slider handle will appear, allowing you to compare two specific versions.
- Previous version - when using a single version slider, this displays the preceding version of the version you've selected. When using compare any two versions, this displays the left slider's version.
- Current version - when using a single version slider, this displays the version you've selected. When using compare any two versions, this displays the right slider's version.
- Content item tabs - use this to switch between different tabs of the content item to view their content.
- Toggle view - let's you switch between split view and unified view.
- Unified view - combines the two version's content, displaying additions highlighted in green and deletions highlighted in red. This mode provides a comprehensive look at the changes made, making it easy to identify what's been added and what's been removed.
- Split view - displays the two versions content side by side, displaying them as if they are two separate items. This view is particularly useful when you want a clear, side-by-side comparison without the overlap of Unified view.
